A downloadable game

The Short Summary:

Llewl is a classic JRPG heavily influenced by Final Fantasy, DragonQuest and the greats of the late ninties and early naughties.

Join Sarah, a trainee Guardian from the village of Snowton as she journies to save her partner Llewl in an epic journey across a vast and colourful world.

The Long Summary:

Its long been rumoured of elf girls disappearing, why? No one knows, by whom? No one knows but one thing is clear, in the tiny village of Snowton in the Northern Continent, an elderly Guardian simply known as Grampa has raised his young apprentice Sarah with one goal and on goal only.  Protect the elf girl Llewl at all costs.

As we enter the game a teenage Sarah who feels woefully underprepared for her role, shares a home with Llewl and Grampa.  With trouble on the horizon, Llewl is an all action JRPG that does its best to make everyone feel welcome in a fun world than leans heavily towards inclusivity and diversity.

======================================

Llewl is a project that started out as a writing lesson in diversity for me along with some youtube tutorials I was creating on how to use RPG Maker, I kinda fell for the characters, light natured classic jrpg feel and the fact I was essentially writing a love story and here we are.

Works pretty well for a prototype! Looking forward to more :) my only true gripe is that anti-aliasing on a pixel font makes it hard to read. My favourite things so far are the skill animations!

Just a few notes on the music: it's catchy and when the battle theme drops it drops HARD, but I think most instrument samples are a bit harsh. Still, the foundation is solid, and I found myself so into the boss theme I got kind of sad when I won the fight...

P.S. The snowball mini-game could be more accessible if you could throw snowballs continuously by holding the action button instead of pressing once for every throw

Thanks a mill for the feedback, really appreciate it, I've already changed the font for the next update.

Yeah I think the bass is way too low in the regular battle theme and kills the excitement, I'll remix that for sure asap.   I'll play around with some filters and maybe less compression on the instruments.

Good idea on the snowball minigame, I'll look into it, think I can just throw my current function in a loop and it should fire continuously.

I love to receive feedback like this as it gives me lots of stuff to work on.  Really appreciate it and thanks for playing.

Hey I liked the concept demo and think it has potential. Would love to see a more fleshed out version. Good job!

One thing I noticed was after talking with Grampa my laptop started getting quite hot until the end of the demo. Somethings could maybe be optimized more.

I'll look into making a less performance intense mode, thanks for giving it a blast dude.

Hi thanks for playing and sticking it out, looks like lots of people are getting loading problems on boot (slow loading) I'll add it to my list of bugs and make it a priority to get it fixed.
